Announcements

Senior page pictures, last will and testaments and "remember when" sheets/pictures are due as soon as possible.

Senior pictures for the slide show are due by February 12th.

PROM TICKETS are on sale now through February 25th, at a reduced rate for early purchase. The cost will be $40 until February 25th. Starting March 1st, the cost will increase to $50 per ticket. The last day to purchase a ticket is March 19th. You will pick up your tickets the week of March 29th. All students attending the prom MUST have a ticket to enter and tickets are NON-TRANSFERRABLE. Payment for prom tickets is NON-REFUNDABLE. Dates must be pre-approved.


The Historically Black College and Universities Awareness Day will take place on Saturday, February 20, at Northwestern High School in Rock Hill, SC. Please stop by Guidance for additional information.

Sports News

Softball Tryouts
Tryouts will be held on the softball field on Monday, February 1st from 4pm until 6pm. You must have had a physical prior to trying out. For girls involved in basketball or cheerleading, tryouts will be held on February 7th on the field 2pm until 4pm. All girls in 7th through 12th grade are welcome to tryout. Remember to wear warm clothes!

Senior Night
Seniors on the cheerleading, wrestling, and basketball players will be recognized on Seniors Night between the girls and boys game with North Central on February 9th.

Track practice will start Thursday, February 11th from 4 – 5:30 p.m. You must have completed a physical by this date. If any questions, please see Coach McKinnon.

BHS Golf Team Tryouts will be held on February 9th at Lancaster Golf Course
4:15 – 5:45 p.m.(MUST have physical and be academically eligible!)

Club News

FEA will be participating in the “Souper Bowl of Caring” by collecting donations of canned goods and money. All food and money donated will go to Hope of Lancaster! Turn in your items at the front office each day and they will be displayed for the week. You will receive a ticket for each item donated and be eligible for the DAILY drawing. One can of food or $1 gets a ticket! Items should be brought to the office BEFORE school starts or teachers may send students with donations at the beginning of 1st period. Teachers may also email Mrs. Seegars daily, if you want us to pick up the donations and bring tickets.
 
Relay for Life Team  and the Buford High School Tumor Terminators are sponsoring a Womanless Beauty Pageant on March 26, 2010, at 6:00 p.m. in the Buford High School Gym.  Entertainment will be provided by various students and school groups. 
 
Student Council will be selling Valentine Candy Roses from February 3 through February 10, with delivery on February 12.  The cost is $1.00 each.    You can get a dozen candy roses for just $12.00!
 
HATS FOR HAITI - Student Council is sponsoring a fundraiser to benefit the survivors of the earthquake in Haiti.  During the week of February 15 through 19, they will be selling “Hats for Haiti” - and you will be allowed to wear a real hat on Friday, Feb. 19th!  A Student Council member will be selling the hats during lunch.  Also, there will be a class competition between Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors.  Each class will have different colored hats displayed in the commons area with their names on them.   All donations will be sent to Haiti through the UMCOR Relief Fund that guarantees 100% of the money is sent for relief.
 
PROM TICKET COMMITTEE will meet in Mrs. Gaissert’s room (303) Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays each week until tickets are completed.
